Fire Ants in Atlanta
Fire Ants have been amazingly effective at spreading across the southeast. Another thing that they are effective at is defending their colonies. You have probably experienced the painful bites and stings they inflict if you, or someone you know, have ever disturbed one of their mounds or foraging trails.
Fire Ants use a chemical communication system based on pheromones to completely cover their unsuspecting victim and then attack all at one time. Reactions to fire ant attacks range from small, red, itching bumps to severe blisters in people who are allergic to their venom. In extreme cases, their attacks can even lead to death.

Spring and Summer is the time when Mosquito populations begin to expand. Left untreated, they can take over your yard. It is not uncommon for homeowners to discover that they cannot use their yard because of mosquitoes. Mosquito bites are more than just a nuisance. They can transmit several serious health-threatening sicknesses – including West Nile Virus. Skyline can help you take your yard back!
After a rain, mosquito eggs deposited previously hatch into larva. These larva are called “wigglers” for obvious reasons. If you have ever examined a standing pool of water that has been still for a few days you will observe hundreds of them wiggling around. Within 7 days of the moisture activating the eggs, adult mosquitoes emerge.
Their first order of business is to find a blood meal which is required so that they can reproduce. During the morning and the heat of the day the adults rest in shaded areas – bushes, tall grass, the underside of decks, trees, awnings, roof overhangs – anywhere there is protection from direct sunlight. In the early hours of evening they emerge and begin the search for their victims.
Fight Back! Skyline will utilize a multi-faceted approach to eliminate current populations as well as controlling future problems. Our on-going Mosquito Reduction Program is most effective when utilized from April to October.
